Our next gathering cycle focuses our attention on the Psalms – the ancient songbook of the Judeo-Christian traditions – where we find expressed a vast array of human emotions. We will be looking at these fascinating pieces of literature and also attempting to go deeper into the spirit of the psalms and find resonances for our lives today.
As we do this we will be joined by Sister Margaret-Theresa, the Reverend Mother of nearby Fairacres Convent. Monastics around the world immerse themselves in the psalms and have done for centuries, chanting them every day and working their way through them each week or so. Sister Margaret-Theresa will be sharing her experience of this immersion in the psalms and she will also teach us how to chant the psalms in the monastic style and lead us in some psalm chanting.
Elsewhere in the cycle our own Renny Gye will speak and we have the usual range of other sorts of gatherings – All Age, Discussion, Meditative, Open-Source.
So please come along and join us in this exploration.
Sundays in June and July at St Albans Church, Charles Street, 5pm (Meditative Service at 8pm).
